What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:

I got involved with the Iditarod when I submitted my application for Teacher on the Trail in 2011, and I was chosen as a finalist, came up here in 2012, was Teacher on the Trail in 2013, and never looked back.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because I realize the power of Iditarod education with students around the globe. Kids love the dogs, the adventure, Alaska, the wilderness, the stories that come out of the Iditarod. It’s all school-worthy and great for education.

Tell me about your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was meeting the people that are friends, lifetime friends that I continue to engage with and meet every year when I come up for the race.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is that the adventure continues, and you can make the most of it.
