What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:

I got involved with Iditarod in 2010 when I first saw the dogs coming down Cordova Hill as part of ceremonial start, and I lived here then and I knew that I had to get much more involved than just that.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with Iditarod because I want to keep staying close to the dogs and to the mushing community. I’ve just gotten so many rewards from being here and part of this race and made so many friends. So I keep coming back.

Tell me about your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was in 2014 at the Safety Roadhouse where I was volunteering. And both Jeff King and Aliy Zirkle ended up inside that checkpoint with Jeff scratching and Aliy missing out on getting first place because of a huge storm that almost blew them out to sea.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is that these dogs are pretty amazing and there’s nothing else like the Iditarod sled dog race.
