What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:

I first became involved with the Iditarod last year. Was my first time to come to Alaska in the wintertime. If you’re going to be in Alaska in the wintertime, you should visit the Iditarod.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved in the Iditarod because I just got caught up in the fever of it last year and decided if I was coming back, I needed to be a volunteer and help in some way.

Tell me about your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was yesterday when we happened upon the dog handler training and discovered that when we go to Fairbanks for the start of the race on Monday, we could be dog handlers too. So, we got involved and tried it, and I’m going to see, at my age, if I can run with the dogs.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is, you have to live every day to the fullest, because you never know what tomorrow will bring, and so enjoy every moment and take advantage of every experience that you can.
