What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:
I first became involved with Iditarod when I saw it on a TV show 13 years ago, and I thought, “Man, I’d sure like to try that.” And that set me down the path to getting dogs of my own and learning how to mush, and it was a dream for years and years. And in 2024, I had the opportunity to come and mush my first Iditarod.
What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?
I’m here today and involved with Iditarod because I love adventure, I love dogs, and Iditarod has everything, bringing those things together, and I just love seeing Alaska from the back of a dog team.
Tell me about your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:
My most memorable Iditarod experience was going through the gorge my first time. There was lots of glare ice and crazy turns and dogs going the wrong direction and ripping the plastic off my sled. It was just a crazy experience.
What do you know for sure?:
What I know for sure in life is that I love my family, I love dogs. Life is meant to be lived.
