Iditarod Role: I wear lots of hats with Iditarod. I work in comms, I do the food drops and during the summer time I actually work out at headquarters with Rayme Redington, doing the dog rides.

What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:
I got involved with Iditarod in 2015. A friend of mine who had volunteered for a number of years told me I’d be good at it and that I would enjoy it. I had an opportunity to jump on the trail right away although I didn’t take it quite that year. I stayed in Anchorage but then I was in Unalakleet for two years, Kodiak for a year, Ophir, and this year I maybe heading out to Skwentna and I’ll be helping out in Anchorage for sure.

What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?
I am here today, I do this every year that I volunteer with. Plus, I also work with a lot of the mushers, so I get to see them as they bring their food in. So it’s a wonderful experience for me also.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:

My most memorable experience of Iditarod was a plane ride from McGrath to Unalakleet, flying over Old Woman’s Cabin. We almost crashed the plane looking at Old Woman’s Cabin when we’d over, quite the ride.

What do you know for sure?:
What I know in life for sure, death and taxes and in doing as much Iditarod as I can, because I love it.
