What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod back in 1983 because, basically, Jeff needed some help. I carried camera gear. I carried a ladder so he could get above the crowd. I loaded camera bodies with film so he could switch into another camera body real quick to take pictures of the next musher. So I did all kinds of stuff.

What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

I am here today involved with the Iditarod because I love the dogs. I love the Iditarod. I love the people. I love the crowds. I get excited about it and I get to be up-close, so that’s what’s the most part fun part about it.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

One of the most memorable Iditarod experiences was back in the day at Goose Lake Corner. There was a tree there and a lot of mushers would hit that tree year after year until the City finally took it out and changed the bike trail to make it a better corner. But there were some pretty good wipe outs at that corner. They were fun to watch.

What do you know for sure?:

What do I know for sure? What I know for sure in life is that Jesus is Lord.
