What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
I got involved with Iditarod because Terry Boyle and Lisa Jaeger that have ran the Rohn checkpoint for the last 18 years invited me to join them one year and we, the three of us, worked for National Outdoor Leadership School at the time.
What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?
I am here today and involved with Iditarod because of the people. I’ve made a lot of wonderful friendships out here and I love coming back and seeing their faces. I only get to see them, some of them, just once a year and that’s at Rohn.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?
One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was last year. My sister Erin was volunteering with us out here, and she’s a vet tech, and watching her help one of the vets staple Aliy Zirkle’s lead dog’s shoulder that had a laceration was pretty, pretty awesome and the dog was able to continue on.
What do you know for sure?:
What I know for sure in life is that, if you find that you’re not happy what you’re doing, to change course because everybody deserves happiness in their life.
