What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
I got involved with the Iditarod by being born into it. My grandpa, Joe Redington, Senior, he’s the founder of the Iditarod. My dad ran in the Iditarod many times and Rayme. And I’ve been brought up around dogs my whole life and it’s just been what I wanted to do since I’ve been a small child, and I’m proud to be here in the race.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?
One of the most memorable Iditarod experiences in 2017 was when I froze my face real bad. It was 63 below zero and that was the first night on the trail. And I was able to keep going and finish the race that year and I finished 14th place. And my whole face turned black. And I was proud of myself for keeping going and toughening it out.
What do you know for sure?:
What I know for sure in life is that I love my family and I love my dogs and I’m happy to be a musher and happy to carry on the family tradition. And I’m really for sure happy that my kids are continuing on the family tradition.
