What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod after finding the volunteer information online for veterinarians and I sent in my application. I was looking for something to reconnect me to veterinary medicine, and this volunteer opportunity seemed like the thing to do.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m involved with the Iditarod because I really like working with these dogs and it’s been an incredible experience to be able to take care of them.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was landing in Rohn for my rookie year, and landing in the mountains and seeing everything around. And then taking a snow machine ride around on the river to see the trail, and I was just in awe of the checkpoint and where we were going to be working.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is dogs are the best.
