Years involved with Iditarod: It’s my first year, so I’m a classic rookie with the Iditarod. Very excited.
Iditarod Role: I’m going to be a Trail Vet while I’m here, so going into it kind of blind.

What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
I got involved with the Iditarod this year because of my friend actually who is going to be here, it’s her third year doing it. And she said it’s an experience that she wouldn’t trade for anything that was on her bucket list. And so I’m from the northeast United States. I love emergencies, I love doing things that I would never expect I’d enjoy, and I like surprises. So I was like, “I’ll just apply, see if I can be useful and help out.” And I guess whatever I wrote worked out and I’m happy to be here. I’m very blessed, I’m very excited.
What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?
I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod, like I said, because of that, but also because I feel like it’s always good to balance what you do in this life with giving back, and sometimes getting back for what you do that’s good. So I think that it’s something that is in need and I’m happy to contribute to what seems to be like a global effort to put together something really cool.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:
Haven’t had any Iditarod experiences yet, because this is my first year, but I’m excited to see what comes across the trail of my own as I’m here.
What in life do you know for sure?
What I know in life for sure, even though I’m 30, is that there is zero things that you can guarantee that what you envision they’re going to go and how they’re going to end up. Because there’s not one thing literally that I have planned after turning 18 that has ended up the way in which I thought it was going to. So I’m sure this will be the same.
