What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved with the Iditarod after meeting them at the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering. They had positions available, and it’s something that I do as an occupation and was very interested. I used to mush when I was a little girl, and it was a dream of mine to volunteer for the Iditarod.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because we are starting flight operations for the Iditarod Air Force. Today, we are sending the first people out on the trail.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was a few years ago. I got to participate in the ceremonial start, and then follow it to Willow where I got to see the official race start and cheer everybody on as they went out on the trail. So I’m very excited for my first year this year to be a part of it volunteering.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that life is short and we need to take advantage of every adventure opportunity that comes to us.
