What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

First became involved with the Iditarod 11 years ago with our first visit to see the Iditarod. After our third trip, my wife and I decided that we wanted to become more involved with it and volunteered to become dog handlers, and have been doing it for the last three trips

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because it’s something that my wife has always wanted to do, and I’m here to please her.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:

My most memorable Iditarod experience was the last trip up here in 2020. We went to the Restart. It snowed three inches an hour that day. It was beyond anything I had ever seen, as far as snow accumulation.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that every day is a gift. Make it count. You never know how many days you’re going to have.
