What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

With Iditarod in 1973. I started watching them when I was a young guy, a teenager, and I just kept watching them year, after year, after year. Then they figured out how to give us a break with it, and take the Southern route on every other year. So now we don’t get them every year, we get them every other year. It’s good when they come through. Putting them in here and no more taking your favorite musher home. I don’t know what happened with that, but I don’t really want to get into it. Yeah. 

What in life do you know for sure?

I know I’m going to be a great old man and watch my grandchildren grow.
