What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with Iditarod as a part of a bigger trip. It was sort
of on my way to Scotland for work and it worked in with timing. I came
as a dog handler for the start and then I met someone who knew someone
who had a spot, so I came out on the trail, which is fantastic..

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved
with the Iditarod?

I’m here today involved with Iditarod because it’s something that I’ve
wanted to come and see for a long time. I’ve always wanted to go to
Alaska, in particular. Timing just worked out well; fate, I guess. And
also because it’s something so different and you get to meet people
who want to challenge themselves and get out of their comfort zone and
do things that are really outside of the norm.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was probably just a
simple one of watching the teams come in with the mountains in the
background and the evening light. The lighting was amazing, it’s just
beautiful.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that nothing is permanent, the good or
the bad. So you should make the most of any moment that you’re in and
get the best out of it.
