What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
I first became involved with the Iditarod when my best friend from veterinary school had come up the year before and had such an incredible experience that she told me it wasn’t to be missed. And so I had to follow her.
What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?
I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because after I came the first time, I just fell in love with the Alaskan culture and the sled dogs and the hospitality of all the people throughout Alaska has been amazing. And I plan to come back in years to come
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.
One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was a food-based experience. And it was either when we had no food at a checkpoint and a community member came and brought us a moose steak to make a moose stew with, and also brought us caribou ribs to eat, which were four feet long. So I felt like I was Fred Flintstone.
What in life do you know for sure?
What I know for sure in life is absolutely nothing, so I’m just trying to have as many incredible life experiences as I can.
