What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod in 2019 when I applied after having a one-year battle with breast cancer. I decided it was time to do the things that were on my bucket list. I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because I appreciate the athletic animal, whether that’s canine or a horse or any other specific role that an animal’s bred to do, I enjoy watching them do their thing.

What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because I appreciate the athletic animal, whether that’s canine or a horse or any other specific role that an animal’s bred to do. I enjoy watching them do their thing.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

My most memorable Iditarod experience was at the Skwentna checkpoint when the volunteers came all the way from Washington. There was 30 snowmobilers that went out onto the river and just packed the trail so that there would be a parking spot for the animals. And I just think it’s neat how the volunteers come and work.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is it’s a blessing to be here and look at the beauty that God has created for us.
