What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
I got involved with the Iditarod by coming from Florida to the Iditarod Teacher Conference. I fell in love and sold everything to move up here.
What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?
I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because I am the sign language interpreter for the start to make sure that deaf and hard of hearing people have access to the beautiful race.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:
One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was when I was working the checkpoint of Koyuk as comms, and one of the mushers was leaving late. She was the last musher to come in. Believe it was Cindy Abbott. I was leading her team out the chute, and it was just her and me and the dogs. The aurora was out. It was beautiful. The dogs started to howl and I started to howl with them.
