What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:

OH, THE IDITAROD: I COVERED THE IDITAROD WHEN I WAS A BROADCAST JOURNALIST YEARS AND YEARS AGO. AND IT JUST – YOU GET THE BUG. AND IT’S JUST SUCH A WONDERFUL EVENT. AND MOSTLY BECAUSE OF WHAT IT MEANS CULTURALLY; THE COMMUNITIES ALONG THE TRAIL AND ALL THE PEOPLE. THEY’RE ALL HERE NOW AND THIS IS REALLY EXCITING.

Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:

THE FIRST YEAR THAT I WAS DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR THE IDITAROD, WE GOT TOGETHER WITH ALL OF THE JOURNALISTS THAT FINISHED THE RACE; THAT HAD ACTUALLY BEEN ON THE TRAIL AND IN NOME. AND I PRESENTED THEM WITH A VERY SMALL RED LANTERN, THE ONES THAT GOT IN LAST. THAT WAS REALLY A COOL TIME BECAUSE YOU REALLY DON’T KNOW THIS RACE UNTIL YOU GET TO TRAVEL IT. AND YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT BETTER THAN ANYONE.

What do you know for sure?:

THAT NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE.
