What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
I got involved with Iditarod after my then fifth grade daughter, Jordan, and her teacher at the time did a class project about the Iditarod. She was involved with following a musher, which was Michelle Phillips, at the time and brought that project home to us. It was at that time that our whole family got involved in our evolution and love of dogs and then of the race. And dog sledding took off.
What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?
I am here today and involved with Iditarod because I love dogs. I actually have learned to love the sport of dog sledding and with my own dogs, have grown into what the sport involves and what it entails and the beauty of what it entails.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?
One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was running the first musher into finger Lake in 2020 into the dog yard. The musher was Richie Diehl and it was about 6:30 in the morning. I felt super accomplished because my first race, my first run and the first musher in.
What do you know for sure?:
What I know for sure in life is that my family, my wife, Lindsey, and my children, and my three dogs will always be there for me and that I will be there for them.
