What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
I got involved with Iditarod about three years ago after a lifelong dream. I became a veterinarian later in life and finally got the experience enough to come out on the trail as a volunteer veterinarian. But I followed it growing up through my life as a kid going to Fur Rondy and going to the Sled dog races for many years.
What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?
I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because I love athletic dogs, and people, and following the competitions. And really admire their hard work and the care that’s dedicated to them by the mushers and the entire volunteer crew and all their staff along the way. It’s definitely a passion of mine to learn more and more about these athletes and how to support them on their journey.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?
One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences is way back when Libby Riddles and Susan Butcher started to win. They quickly became my heroes.
What do you know for sure?:
I don’t know that I know anything in life for sure. I guess the only sure thing is that everything is an unknown.
