What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved with the Iditarod as a board member, roughly three and a half years ago. I was approached by a number of business community folks in Anchorage here who thought that I would be good for it. And I was honored by the position. I’d been around the Iditarod, lived in Alaska all my life, and have always admired the Iditarod. It truly captures the Alaskan spirit.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was in 2019, I had a chance to go to Nome for the conclusion of the race. I had a chance to hang out with DeeDee Jonrowe, who is one of my idols. And I think that was probably one of the most memorable times.

What do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is, if you apply that to the Iditarod, is this is truly an Alaskan spirit. I do a lot of traveling. Every time when I’m traveling outside, I’m always asked questions about the Iditarod. And I’m very, very proud to be a part of it.
