What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:

IT’S AN AMAZING RACE. YEARS AND YEARS AGO, I WAS PROBABLY 9 YEARS OLD, I WATCHED THE MOVIE “IRON WILL” WITH MY DAD AND KNEW THAT ONE DAY I WANTED TO BE INVOLVED WITH THIS RACE. SO MY CAREER ENDED UP SETTING THAT UP FOR ME, SINCE I BECAME A VETERINARY TECHNICIAN. AND I GOT INVOLVED LAST YEAR. I CALL IT MY GILLIGAN TRIP. I CAME FOR 3 ½ WEEKS MEANING 2 TO WORK WITH ECG BLOOD WORK PROGRAM AND A WEEK AND A HALF OF VACATION. AND I WAS IN A POSITION THAT I COULD STAY, AND I ENDED UP SPENDING 2 MONTHS HERE WORKING THE ENTIRE ECG BLOOD WORK PROGRAM AND THE ENTIRE RACE WITH RETURN DOG IN ANCHORAGE,

Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY LAST YEAR WORKING THE ECG AND BLOOD WORK PROGRAM. IT ALLOWS YOU TIME TO TALK WITH THE MUSHERS AND GET TO KNOW THEIR DOGS AND CREATE AN EVEN MORE VESTED INTEREST BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHO THAT DOG IS THAT YOU’RE LOOKING AT; AND SEE THE LOVE THAT THE MUSHERS AND THE HANDLERS HAVE FOR THESE ANIMALS. AND THEY’RE AMAZING. IT’S THE OLYMPICS OF DOGS. THAT’S WHY IT’S PRETTY AMAZING.

What do you know for sure?:

I KNOW THAT THE SUN WILL RISE AND THE SUN WILL SET AND THESE DOGS WILL RUN AND HOPEFULLY IT JUST ALL CONTINUES TO BE A NICE CIRCULAR EVENT LIKE THAT.
