What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:
WELL, I HAVE A SON WHO HAS A GOOD CHANCE OF WINNING ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP (MITCH) THIS YEAR. SO I WANT TO BE HERE TO SUPPORT HIM. AND THEN, IT’S JUST SO GREAT TO SEE SO MANY PEOPLE INVOLVED IN SOMETHING LIKE DOG MUSHING AND THE SPORT. I JUST THINK IT’S WONDERFUL.
Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:
OH, BOY. I’VE HAD A FEW. PROBABLY ARRIVING IN NOME IN 3RD PLACE IN THE FIRST RACE IN 1973.
What do you know for sure?:
OH, BOY. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED THAT QUESTION BEFORE. IN ALL LIKELIHOOD I WOULD HAVE TO SAY, I DON’T KNOW NOTHING FOR SURE EXCEPT THE LOVE OF THE LORD.
