What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod in 1997, where I actually bid and it was an IditaRider for Jim Galea, his rookie year, from New Mexico. I was living in New Mexico at the time. I really liked it. We’ve been coming up and been involved with the Iditarod ever since. Moved up here to Alaska, lived up here for 15 years. Was involved, but have recently moved away, so I’m from Arizona now.

What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

Today’s the musher meeting, so it’s kind of exciting.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

Some of our most memorable experiences have been, I guess, maybe the last-minute shifting of the Restart to Fairbanks, which generally we have two weeks or 10 days to get that planned and executed. So those are probably the most memorable times that I’ve had as coordinator going to Fairbanks.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is really my family. I’m a family guy, so I spend a lot of time with my family, they are kind of my number one priority and, really, the Iditarod’s been my number one passion.
