What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod because my Aunt Mickey at the time asked me if I would like to be involved in the Iditarod and I jumped at it because I think it’s the greatest experience.

What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because the natural highness of these dogs are so ready to go. It is just the greatest feeling to be involved.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

One of my most memorable Iditarod experience was in 2009 in Willow. At the very beginning I was in charge of the trail guard there and make sure the spectators go through before the mushers come through. And Lance Mackey, he somehow keep backing up and backing up and backing up. And he was going to run me over. So I put my hand out. Oh my God, I touched him. That was kind of a great experience there so…

What do you know for sure?:

What do I know for sure in life is because I’m a cancer survivor I appreciate everything around me. I love Alaska, and people here are wonderful, friendly, and the state is just absolutely gorgeous. So I really appreciate everything around me. And you should. That’s what life is all about.
