What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved in the Iditarod from Dr. Jim Lanier, who has run Iditarod dozens and dozens of times. I remember mushing with him as a youth and then helping him out, but mostly watching him mush as an elder musher. It was a great way for me to remember and live Alaska.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today involved with Iditarod because I want to help people in Alaska do the things they love, and that include mushing. If I have time to come help support them, and help them live their dream, I’m ready and willing.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was actually with Jim Lanier, also as he started his mushing with two Irish setters and a sled.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that it is short, and we must all make the most of it.
