What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

So I got involved with Iditarod through Dallas Seavey. I am one of the race handlers at the kennel, and I absolutely enjoy my involvement with the race team. I’ve been working with them pretty closely this entire season, as well as the two-year-olds last year, who are now on the race team. So I’ve been involved with them basically to the point where they’re crossing the finish line in Nome now.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with Iditarod because I am obsessed with and love working with sled dogs, and I love traveling with the dogs across the state of Alaska. That is why I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was sending off dogs I’d worked with since the day they were born down the start chute, across Willow Lake and watching them take off on a thousand-mile adventure. I’m sure that will soon to be topped by watching them come across the finish line here in Nome in the next few hours.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is I would like to eventually do Iditarod. I would like to come across Cape Nome, beautiful sunset like we have here right now, stop my team, love on my dogs, and that would be a very awesome life.
