What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first got involved with Jr. Iditarod when my dad took me out, drove me down from Nenana to Wasilla to watch the Jr. Iditarod, and to just see how it went down because I was going to be competing in a few years. I was like 11, 12. So yeah, it was an amazing experience to just watch all those kids pour out their hearts to compete. And that’s how I first got involved.

What was one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

And one of the most memorable experiences was, I competed just now in the Jr. Iditarod, and the last team was coming in Eva Robinson and most of the kids, we waited for her to come in, and that had never really happened before where the community had waited for the last musher to come in. So that was a very memorable experience.

What does the 50th running of the Iditarod mean to you?

And then, knowing that the 50th Iditarod, makes me super happy that it’s still continuing and that I might possibly still have a future in running the Iditarod. I hope, with all the sponsors that are dropping out, it’s scary, but I really do hope that it continues for the 100th anniversary.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know and sure in life is to be confident in yourself and enjoy life because it’s very short and just have fun and go get your dreams.
