What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved with Iditarod when I was just a little kid. I was probably around heading maybe four or five years old when I first started interacting with the mushers and the dogs. Pretty much my whole life.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today involved with Iditarod because it’s a chance to interact with new people, but not a whole lot of new people come through Nikolai. And this is one of the major events that happens here. And interaction with the dogs and the mushers and all the staff that comes out here for the race.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.  One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was in… Probably when I was a kid building forts out of the bales of hay and taking them down one by one as the mushers come in. And I remembered that one, because that… Me and my friends actually ended up falling off of them. And all the bales of hay fell along with us.

What in life do you know for sure? What I know for sure in life is that life is really short. You got to live to the fullest, no matter what you’re doing. And that’s all I have to say about that. Just live life to the fullest.
