What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved with the Iditarod when my parents did it. We lived here in Alaska until I was six years old. And we lived around Jeff King up in Denali. And my mom did Iditarod last year. We lived here. So it’s always been the biggest dream in mushing.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because this is like a once-in-a-lifetime chance you get. And coming all the way from Norway, it takes a lot. And I’m lucky enough to have the sponsors and the support of my family and friends and just kinda, I think I would’ve regretted it the rest of my life if I didn’t do it this year.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was, since this is being our first year here, it’s only been training so far. But one of the first training trips we had, we had blue skies and we saw Denali and it was just amazing. It’s what you see in the movies and what I’ve always dreamed about coming over here. So it was pretty special.
