What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved with Iditarod at the behest of one of my classmates from Oklahoma State University, Betsy King, a wonderful veterinarian, and a great friend. I think the words that she used to me were “I have something right up your alley.”

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because I finally, after 40 years of practicing veterinarian medicine and working 50 to 60 to 70 hours a week, I am now retired and have time to give back and volunteer to an awesome cause.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was at checkpoint Iditarod in 2021 when the thermometer hit minus 55.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is: A) that I’m here, and B) that I love my wife.
