What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

About 15 years ago. I worked with a guy who was a dog handler, and he got me involved. I first became involved in the Iditarod in the phone room because of my telecom and sales experience and from there I’ve been a trail guard, parking, a number of different jobs, including this one today, helping Jeff Schultz.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with Jeff to help out with the vet check-in and these interviews.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:

My most memorable Iditarod experience was probably dog handling for the Berrington twins. Another memorable experience was working in the phone room over the years. Diana from Montana always calls in to check to see where the mushers are, and it’s always a delight to talk to her.

What in life do you know for sure?

One thing I know in life for sure is it’s always changing.
