What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first got involved with the Iditarod back in 2019. My aunt, Sandy Halstead, had been volunteering for a few years and she dragged me into it and got me out to Finger Lake on a trail crew. And I loved it.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

Well, I’m back here today involved with the Iditarod because I like almost everything about it. I like the dogs. I like the mushers. And most of all, it’s the volunteers. I like the other volunteers. They’re really fun to hang out with and reunite with every year.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was my first year at Finger Lake on trail crew, running in front of the dog teams, getting run over a couple times by the dog teams and being pretty exhausted running in all the soft snow.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is that the Iditarod is the last great race.
