What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

When I was a young man in Kotzebue watching the race and traveling to Nome to be a part of it. And the local mushers, Roger Nordlum and Sonny Russell, encouraged me to get involved and I decided to run it. And when I ran it the first time, I decided that I would like to try to win it.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I was in Anchorage and wanted to come and see old friends and make new ones.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:

My most memorable Iditarod experience was coming in first into Nome and having people drumming and celebrating.

What in life do you know for sure?

To do well, you have to work hard.
