What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:
THE WHY IS SOMETHING I WOULDN’T QUITE HAVE EXPECTED BECAUSE WHEN I FIRST CAME UP HERE. IT WAS AN EYE-OPENING EXPERIENCE, BUT AS YOU QUITE KNOW, AND AS PEOPLE ALONG THIS TRAIL KNOW, THIS RACE GETS IN YOUR BLOOD AND IT GETS IN YOUR HEART. AND IT’S AN AMAZING RACE. AND IT’S AN AMAZING SPORT.
Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:
WELL, I WOULD SAY, OUTSIDE OF MY RACE EXPERIENCE, THE ONE THING I REALLY HOLD ONTO IS THE STORIES; THE STORIES THAT COME FROM NOT ONLY THE LEAD MUSHERS, BUT THE LEAD DOGS, ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE BACK-OF-THE-PACKERS. THEY HAVE SOME OF THE GREATEST STORIES TO BE TOLD. AND I REALLY ENJOY TELLING THOSE STORIES OF THE MIDDLE- AND BACK-OF-THE-PACKERS.
What do you know for sure?:
WELL, I KNOW THERE’S DEATH, TAXES AND THAT I LOVE MY TWO CHILDREN MORE THAN ANYTHING.
