What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:

I got involved with Iditarod through my sister who introduced me. She went to the Iditarod a couple of years ago as a teacher and went through their education and she came in for the classes here to Alaska and then also helped and met some of the mushers and her class was very involved with it. And so when I moved to Alaska, she did the same thing for me, which really piqued my interest.

What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with Iditarod because I’m new to Alaska and Iditarod symbolizes Alaska to me. I come in with a blank slate to both Alaska and of the Iditarod and it’s the history that surrounds it that really interests me.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was, or is, meeting everybody, the people, the volunteers. All the volunteers that are involved is… there’s so many and they’re friendly, they’re welcoming, they’re educating me. It’s been wonderful.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is to be humble; that there’s people out there, all makes… Just to be humble. Humble in life and to be thankful that we’re here sharing in, especially, for me and today and this experience, the Iditarod. I’m very thankful for that.
