What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:

I’M HERE FOR THE DOGS AND FOR THE MUSHERS. I THINK IT’S AN INCREDIBLE BOND THAT WE ALL HAVE. HELPING THE DOGS; LEARNING FROM THE MUSHERS; AND THE MUSHERS LEARN FROM THE VETERINARIANS THAT THESE DOGS CAN FINISH A 1000-MILE RACE.

Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:

I WOULD SAY, ASIDE FROM GETTING TO FLY TO REALLY UNIQUE CHECKPOINTS AND REMOTE PLACES, MY MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCE WAS WHEN I HAD A DOG IN GALENA A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO THAT I HAD TO FIX A LACERATION ON THE SHOULDER. AND BEING ABLE TO DO THAT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WAS REALLY AMAZING.

What do you know for sure?:

I KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOUR LIFE SHOULD ALWAYS BE AN ADVENTURE. WHETHER IT’S — SO WHAT I DO IS, I’M A RELIEF VETERINARIAN SO I DRIVE TO DIFFERENT CLINICS EVERY DAY. SO EVERY DAY IS AN ADVENTURE FOR ME. I GO ON A ROAD TRIP AND I WORK IN A NEW PLACE. AND THAT KEEPS ME HAPPY.
