What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?:

I first became involved with the Iditarod, or heard about the Iditarod when I did a eighth grade project on it and thought that it was really cool. And growing up in northern Michigan, I thought that that would be something that would be incredible to see through the snow and so forth.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because my friend Susie had this idea that we would come up and celebrate the Iditarod in person rather than just reading about it or seeing it online. So we thought this would be fun, and it has been.

Tell me about your most memorable Iditarod experiences?:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was trying to bid to become an Iditarider that was seriously one of the most stressful situations I’ve ever been in, yet fantastic. And I’m super excited to be here today to be able to do that.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is there is a God, and I’ve been very blessed to be here and to have experiences like this and see God’s beauty in nature and with everything around us in Alaska.
