What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved with the Iditarod this year. It’s my first year on the trail but I grew up in Alaska so I’ve followed the race since childhood, but this is my first year out here, kind of in the thick of it.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with the Iditarod because I’ve been just inspired by the magnitude and the spirit of the race since childhood, learning about it in school and just seeing what a huge undertaking it is really. It’s a really cool thing to be a part of and, yeah, I’m happy to be here.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

Well, I’ve only been out here about a day and a half but it’s just been really cool to kind of see all the logistics involved with getting things out to the checkpoints and all the army of volunteers that kind of come together and make this happen. You know, everybody giving up days or weeks of their year to come together and pull this off and just kind of the whole thing is really… It’s just awesome. .
