What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first became involved with Iditarod around 2013, starting with the ECG (electrocardiograph) program in Fairbanks.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I am here today and involved with Iditarod because I love the dogs. I absolutely love dogs. And Alaska’s my second home. I love it here.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was when I was stationed in Unalakleet working the overnight shift. I was out checking the dogs and I noticed the aurora was just stunning. I ended up laying on the ground in the middle of the road just to watch the light show.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is this too shall pass. And if you have it, it’s better to have it and not need it.
