What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with Iditarod because one of my coworkers in Anchorage is a volunteer. And her story of being in negative 60 degrees in Ophir last year sounded really exciting.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because it seems like an amazing tradition that I wanted to be a part of. And I wanted to get into more rural part of Alaska and interact with communities here in a way that they were excited about.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences.

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was one of my first rides on a snow machine. I was sitting on seven bales of hay and holding a bale of hay, being towed on a sled behind a snow machine and trying very hard not to fall off.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is there’s nothing more important than our fellow human beings.
