What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod to come experience time with my best friend Lee, who lives up here. I wanted to see about maybe moving up here, so I’m up here in the winter, and I’m here for this.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because I wanted to spend time with Lee and learn about the sport that I’ve heard about all this time, all my life. I wanted to experience it firsthand and see what everybody’s doing.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was this morning on the way, driving into Anchorage, realizing it was negative 12 degrees out, and sending a picture to my kids that it was 5:00 AM and negative 12 degrees. They’re home in New York.

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that I’m going to take opportunities every time I get them to do stuff. My father died two years ago, almost. It’ll be in a week. I don’t want to regret not doing things, because he didn’t. So, every time I get an opportunity, I’m going to do it.
