Years involved with Iditarod: I CAME UP HERE IN 1990 WITH NORMAN. AND THEN I GOT INVOLVED ABOUT 2005 AFTER NORM PASSED AWAY. I THOUGHT I’D MAKE HOMAGE TO HIM AND IN HONOR OF HIM I GOT INVOLVED WITH VOLUNTEERING.
Iditarod Role: I ENJOY SECURITY. THE CEREMONIAL START IS REALLY THE LIGHTING OF THE FUSE FOR THE COURSE OF EVENTS TO TAKE PLACE.

What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:
I GUESS AGAIN – MY DEAREST FRIEND AND MENTOR NORMAL VAUGHN BROUGHT ME UP HERE. I MET HIM AFTER LIVING IN THE SWEDISH ARCTIC. I MOVED BACK AFTER CHERNOBYL OF ’86. AND I MOVED BACK TO THE BOSTON AREA IN ’89.
Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:
WELL, I GUESS IT’S RIGHT HERE AND NOW. THIS IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT. THE SPIRIT LIVES ON.
What do you know for sure?:
WELL, I KNOW I’M GOING TO BE BACK HERE NEXT YEAR. AND THAT I CAN GUARANTY. I ALWAYS BOOK EVERYTHING BEFORE I EVEN LEAVE HERE. IT’S JUST THE ENERGY AND THE SPIRIT AND THE POSITIVE-NESS OF ALL THE PEOPLE HERE.
