What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?
So I got involved with the Iditarod in about 2005, 6. And so, I used to do the Iron Dog Race, snowmobile race. So I knew the trail. And I had a friend of mine that needed some help with the guiding of the trail, and since I’ve done the Iron Dog, I knew the trail. So I guess that’s how they got me involved with it.
What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?
I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because I’m part of the insider crew, and I help my photographer get to Nome, so we can take pretty pictures along the way.
Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?
One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was going on the trail to Ruby, and it was about two in the morning, really, really cold out, and the Northern Lights were out. And you can almost feel them, they were so electric. And we watched, I believe it was Aliy Zirkle came by us, and just the twinkle of her dogs with the Northern Lights and the quietness, and just being in that remote area was an experience I’ll never forget, and a feeling I’ll never forget.
What do you know for sure?:
What I know for sure in life is, if you smile, it’s a lot better.
