What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved in Iditarod by doing a few years in Juneau, Alaska, working for Matt Failor working on the Mendenhall ice fields. He gave me an opportunity to run his dogs in the winter. And I’ve doing that for a few years and then decided that I wanted to help out on the trail, and volunteered for my first year out here.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure, life is unpredictable. I grew up in right outside Boston, Massachusetts, and here I am out in the coast of Alaska in Unalakleet. And I’ll tell you, I never expected this. My family never expected this. So it’s definitely unpredictable, but it’s pretty special.
