What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I first got involved with the Iditarod last year. This is my second year. I came with a friend, one of my college buddies from University of Georgia.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here because I had never come to Alaska before, and once I came the first time, I just loved it. I loved the culture, the people, the native environment that’s here, so I just came to experience that.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:

I think just meeting the mushers last year during musher parking was really fun. They’re extremely friendly. You get to see the dogs and interact with the dogs. I also did dog handling last year, so I got to work with several of the mushers doing that. It was just an amazing experience. Awesome.

What in life do you know for sure?

Oh, what in life do I know for sure is that we are very insignificant, and our job in life is to improve the lives of others. You take every opportunity that you can to do that.
