What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with The Iditarod because my father John Norris has been flying with The Iditarod Air Force for over 30 years and I’ve always been really interested in what it is they do out there. And whilte I’ve had that interest from afar, I’ve never actually been on the trail to witness it firsthand, so I’m getting to do that for the first time this year.

What is your Why?..Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?

I am here today because not only do I want to help this race, which I’ve always thought is a wonderful thing for the state of Alaska, but also to meet some of the community that my father is known so long and to spend time with him as well.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

What are my most memorable Iditarod experiences had to have been the front runners coming into McGrath, being there almost around 10 o’clock and seeing Lance Mackey come in with his team. And I got to shake hands with Lance and see him go to work and it was just a magical moment. Starlit night, moon was out, absolutely gorgeous.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is that we’re all on this planet together and we just need to help each other. And the more we can help each other, the better we’ll all feel about it, the better we’ll all feel about this planet and this God, and just life in general. And so being able to be out here and to bring people together and just help make things happen makes us realize we are not all that different.
