What is your Why?.. Why are you here today and involved in Iditarod?:
I GOT INVOLVED WITH IDITAROD, LIKE I SAID, IN ‘15, BUT I JUST LIKE TO WATCH THE DOGS RUN. AND SO A FRIEND OF MINE, BRITTANY HANSON, GOT ME HERE TODAY TO WORK WITH IAF, SO THAT’S PRETTY MUCH WHY I’M HERE.
Tell me about your most rewarding experience on Iditarod?:
IT WAS IN 2015 IN FAIRBANKS. I WAS DOING SECURITY WITH GRACEWORKS AND WAS WATCHING THE DOGS RUN BY AND CHEERING THEM ON AND SOMEHOW A LEAD DOG CAUGHT MY ATTENTION OR SOMETHING. EITHER WAY, IT CAME INTO THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT, TANGLED UP WITH THE KIDS, AND STOPPED THE RACE FOR A HOT SECOND BECAUSE EVERYBODY WAS GETTING TANGLED UP, THE COMING MUSHERS AND ALL THAT BUNCH. THE GUARD HAD TO GET OUT AND GET THE DOGS UNTANGLED AND GET THEM BACK ON THE TRAIL. SO THAT WAS PROBABLY THE FUNNIEST AND MOST REWARDING. I BELIEVE IT WAS– ALIY ZIRKLE’S WAS THE DOG THAT DID IT, BUT I’M NOT TOO SURE.
What do you know for sure?
THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING AND FOLLOW HIM AND YOU’LL DO GOOD.
