What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved with the Iditarod through my daughter’s elementary school eight years ago when they had us study the Iditarod. We watched it, and we became hooked. We became iditaRiders first, and now we’re Idita-hooked.

What is your Why? Why are you here TODAY and involved with the Iditarod?

I’m here today and involved with the Iditarod because, as I said before, once you’re here once, you’re here again and again. Eight years, going strong. Driving that tag sled for Ryan Redington. And this year’s goal is to actually stay on the sled.

Tell me about just one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences:

One of my most memorable Iditarod experiences was three years ago when I was tag sled driving for Ryan and we hit the infamous corner of Fourth and Cordova, right there in front of the TV cameras. We hit it so hard that I went sailing over Ryan, over the sled, into the middle of the street, jumped up, and started running with all my might to catch the team as the whole crowd started cheering, “Run, run, run.” I threw my arms in the air and said, “I am.”

What in life do you know for sure?

What I know for sure in life is that I’m the reigning Mrs. Springfield all the way from Missouri. Running for the title of Mrs. Missouri America. And I’m here tag sled driving for Ryan Redington. I know for sure that this year we’re going to have a great run and we’re staying on this sled.
