What, who or how and when did you first get involved with the Iditarod?

I got involved in Iditarod. My dad raced in 1973 and I took over at ’74.

What was one of your most memorable Iditarod experiences?

My most memorable Iditarod race was, I stayed awake for three days at the very end of the race in order to come in second.

What does the 50th running of the Iditarod mean to you?

What I know about Iditarod, I think it improved a lot when we first started. When we first started, we didn’t know what we were doing, but we were giving it a try anyway. And when we did make it, it went on ever since.

What do you know for sure?:

What I know for sure in life is that it could be done, and we did the best we could to show that the race can go on. That’s what I learned.
